Knowing all 4 numbers, it's a simple elimination permutation: 4 x 3 x 2 x 1 as to where to place the digits. I found this a year later because I also have a violation and have no idea what my account number is....crap. At Thanksgiving 2006 when I dropped the money in the light didn't change so I did the horn honking thing and proceeded. Long after the fact I got the letter from NJ saying I owed 35 cents plus at $25 fee. I politely responded that I had paid the money and did not owe the fee. They didn't care. My nephew was with me since he goes to school in the Boston area but am I going to a hearing over the stupid 35 cent toll with a fine that would probably be about $1,000 by the time I got to the hearing???? Oh well...so I got the transponder. Well...lo and behold...about 3 months ago I get one of those same letters with a picture of my license plate, the toll and a time...but luckily it was a day after I got the statement from FASTLANE which I hadn't thrown out (and now save) so I just highlighted the relevant line and sent it back.
